Lynn Upton and his wife, Cathy, operate The Sapphire Cat, a small booth featuring exotic gemstones, jewelry, and other knickknacks such as old Texas magazines and used video games. What started as a hobby several years ago is now Upton's business.
The show also makes it possible for people who cannot operate a full time store to make their goods available to the public.
"A few years back, my ex wife asked me, 'Why don't you collect money instead of these rocks?'" Upton said. "I really enjoy working with these gemstones, though."
"We allow pretty much anything as long as it's nice and clean," Lopez said. "We don't want this to be a junk market."

Joe and Lola Fortin have a stall, spread out over several booths, that features western and cowboy art in homemade frames fashioned from discarded picket fences.
He will often buy old jewelry that folks bring by his booth, or he'll barter and trade with people, depending on the deal in question.
The show attracts a diverse range of vendors and craftsmen.
Lopez said he hopes the show will continue to grow, adding more vendors as the crowds increase. "Right now, we have space for 184 booths. I'd love to see us fill this space every month."
Denton and Joyce McNew have been working trade shows for about eight months. Their booth features an old covered wagon from which they dispense "Old Fashioned Soda." The old time sarsaparilla, root beer and orange cream soda in tin cups appeared to be popular with the crowd.
For the McNews, the camaraderie of the events is what keeps them coming back.
Since December, on the first weekend of every month, the old factory has been repurposed as the home of the Sweetwater Trade Days.
"All of these frames come with a lifetime guarantee," Lola said. "If they fall or break, Joe will fix them."

Joe added, however: "But that 'lifetime guarantee' only extends to my lifetime. I'll fix them as long as I'm here, but after I'm gone, well, they'll have to get them fixed somewhere else."

"You get to know a lot of the vendors," Denton said. "We go to all the same shows, and we develop a friendship. We also love interacting with the public. You get all kinds of characters that come through here."
