Private and semi-private workshops at my Studio Garden in A place where creativity is not only learned, but experienced.- So. Calif. (no group classes) |
In these one or two day workshops,(Private and Semi-Private only) the student will not only learn my approach to pastel portraiture, but also will understand that art is not only to be created , but to be lived.
In these workshops, the student(s) and I will be painting side by side, working from the same reference. They will learn how I begin a painting all
the way through to ...a finished piece.... Lost and found edges, as well as values, color temperature, background intergration, etc. All questions will be addressed. I am very open about my painting process. Nothing is off limits.
Each moment, and every part of our lives is an empty canvas, waiting to be painted. Integrating the two is the key to expressive painting.
I approach my my art with the same spirit as my life. Therefore, they are one and the same.
My studio is surrounded by beautiful gardens with little surprises and treasures in every corner. The student is welcome and encouraged to enjoy all that it has to offer. Whether you want to sit and meditate, ponder or just look around, you will have the opportunity throughout the workshop.
In this workshop package, a delicious lunch will be included. The student(s) and I will enjoy our leisurely lunch together in the "Courtyard" where we can discuss what we have learned so far or whatever suits our fancy. Wine to toast the day is also included! Coffee will be served in the morning.
Package information is as follows:
Private-Semi Private ( 2 students together. I do not provide the second student)
Cost per day (2 day maxiumum): $175.00
Workshop Time: 10am- 4pm
Lunch: 12:00 noon - 1:30 ( during this time my process of painting and any questions can be discussed.)
Two 15 minute breaks are required throughout the workshop. This gives the student the opportunity to wonder the garden areas and come back to the studio refreshed.
SUEDE MATBOARD IS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE WORKSHOP.
Date: Anytime that can be arranged between student and teacher.
Early evening festivities with the student and me and my husband, ( after workshop) can also be arranged, but price is not included in workshop package.
Lodging is available throughout the area and can suit any budget.
Workshop is not wheelchair accessable. Lots of small stairs and paths.
Workshops are non-refundable.
